Completed in 2025, Norwich is the latest building developed and managed by Bubbly Dynamics as part of our long-term investment in Chicago’s Central Manufacturing District. Located next door to Bubbly, at 1100 W. 37th St., the former Norwich Pharmacal Co. facility is a heavy timber and brick structure is a contributing building to the Original East Historic District of the Central Manufacturing District, as designated in the National Register of Historic Places.
Norwich was vacant for decades before stabilization and build-out was initiated, as part of a long-standing collaboration between Bubbly Dynamics and the adjacent property owner, who acquired the building in 2001 with hopes of restoring activity to this underutilized block. Renovations followed the same principles as our earlier work at Bubbly: strategic reuse of salvaged materials, phased improvements to preserve affordability, and thoughtful design to support light-industrial businesses committed to circular economy practices.
Norwich is now home to a growing network of small manufacturers, fabricators, and artists. Together, they form a collaborative, resource-sharing community that reflects the spirit of hands-on innovation, material stewardship, and creative reuse.
